As an artist, it is a paradox to represent the zeitgeist as you are already part of it. Every time an artist creates a new work, it reflects the zeitgeist and participates to its continuous mutation.
Keeping that in mind, I decided to use a typography, which I recently made as a basis. To do so, I wrote “zeitgeist” and I converted the typeface into a vector. Once I selected the shape of the typography, anchor points appeared, which attracted me by it's graphic results: lines and points in the digital feel. Indeed, I recognized the property of the zeitgeist in that instant, because the zeitgeist is a snapshot of a moment in time. For this reason, I made a screenshot of that result and used it as my material for the project. I used this screenshot and made different compositions with it in InDesign.
Also, the zeitgeist often evolves when interactions between different fields occur. As a result, my wish was to recreate this interaction in my process. I exported my created image into the sound software Audition, which helped me to obtain a proper sound. To that sound I've applied different effects and exported it in a way that it generate an unique image. That back and forth process is in itself a symbolic representation of the interactions between different fields that participate to the zeitgeist dynamics.
